Enrollment Deadline: September 30... Enrollment may be limited!

Enrollment Requirements:

1. Must be a Sitka City and Borough resident.
2. Sign a verification that student is not enrolled in any other public school in the State of Alaska- Statement of Enrollment.
3. Take any assessment required by the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development of public school students.
4. K-8 complete monthly contact / High School complete weekly contact.
5. Participate in initial planning meeting and complete these forms:
   Educational Learning Plan- due Oct. 15
   Mid-Year Summary -due Jan. 15
   Year-End Summary - due Last Day of School
6. Turn in portfolio work samples for student each year including:
   Grades K-1: Self-portrait and writing sample
   Grades 2-6: Writing sample and one other student choice.
   Grade 5: completion of a project (usually a science project)
   Grades 7-11: Writing sample, one example of another discipline area, and one student choice.
   Grade 8: Completion of Social Issues writing / speech/ project.

How to enroll:

Call and set up a meeting- we will have all the forms ready for you here in our office. OR

Print out the enrollment forms from the links below, fill out mail or bring in to our office. Please call first for an appointment.

Enrollment form -- one per student
Statement of Enrollment form -- one per family
$50.00 deposit and if you plan to borrow a computer, you will need an additional $100. 00 computer deposit. Both deposits are refundable when you return all borrowed items in good condition.

A planning meeting is required to collect all necessary information and begin discussion of your homeschooling plan for your family.

How to withdraw:

Print out the withdraw form, fill out the form and bring it to our office. Your signature is required on this form.
